| A customer needed a low cost, simple transmission for a tiller. NHI designed a jackshaft by mounting two pulleys to a common hub. Combining “V” groove for forward drive and flat groove for reverse, we replaced two cast pulleys for a more compact, lower cost unit. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Instead of an expensive machined casting and separate pulley, NHI developed a single piece design for an outdoor power equipment drive. While realizing a large per piece cost reduction, the customer also reduced the number of manufacturing steps needed to assemble the final product, saving time and money. |
